Online posts show ISIS eyeing Mexican border, says law enforcement bulletin
"Social media chatter shows Islamic State militants are keenly aware of the porous U.S.-Mexico border, and are “expressing an increased interest” in crossing over to carry out a terrorist attack, according to a Texas law enforcement bulletin sent out this week.
“A review of ISIS social media messaging during the week ending August 26 shows that militants are expressing an increased interest in the notion that they could clandestinely infiltrate the southwest border of US, for terror attack,” warns the Texas Department of Public Safety "situational awareness" bulletin, obtained by FoxNews.com.
The three-page bulletin, entitled “ISIS Interest on the US Southwest Border” and dated Aug. 28 was released to law enforcement on Thursday.
“Social media account holders believed to be ISIS militants and propagandists have called for unspecified border operations, or they have sought to raise awareness that illegal entry through Mexico is a viable option,” states the law enforcement bulletin, which is not classified."

Ret USAF General Warns of Possible 9/11/14 Coming
Saturday on Fox News Channel's "America's News HQ," network military analyst Ret. Lt. Gen. Thomas McInerney told host Uma Pemmaraju that in order to address the current threat ISIS posses, the Untied States should "go to DEFCON 1, our highest state of readiness and be prepared as we lead up to 9/11," because he warned "we may even see a 9/11/14."

Ferguson fuels 'kill switch' debate | TheHill
Tech and civil liberties groups are pushing back on a California
"kill switch" bill that they warn could be used to silence protests like
the ones seen this week in Ferguson, Mo.
Critics say a California
bill passed on Monday contains a dangerous carve-out that could give
law enforcement the power to shut down cellphones during emergency
situations, possibly including public demonstrations.
The
California bill is aimed at curbing cellphone theft by requiring all
smartphones sold in the state — home to 37 million people — to come
equipped with a feature that allows users to remotely wipe their
personal data and make the devices inoperable.It requires that the “kill switches” be turned on by default, though a user can opt out of using the tool.
If
signed by Gov. Jerry Brown (D), the bill will add to the features that
some companies already offer to let users disable their phones if
stolen.
But the bill “is not explicit about who can activate such a switch,” the Electronic Frontier Foundation said in a June letter opposing the bill.
“And
more critically, the solution will be available for others to exploit
as well, including malicious actors or law enforcement.”

Mexico Freaks Out Over National Guard Troops On Border: “No Circumstance Justifies This Measure”

The Mexican foreign ministry has launched a formal protest in response to Governor Rick Perry’s decision to send Texas National Guard Troops to the southern border.
According to a head-scratching statement released by Mexico, there is apparently no border security problem and the State of Texas has grossly overreacted.
Mexico “reiterates, in a firm and categorical way, its rejection of this measure,” read a statement from the foreign ministry.Governor Rick Perry called up 1,000 Texas National Guard Troops in an effort to curb the flow of illegal immigrants into the state. Several dozen troops began arriving in the Rio Grande Valley last week as part of the state’s Joint Counterdrug Task Force.
“No circumstance at all or change in border security exists that justifies this measure taken by the state.”
The troop deployment “does not contribute in any way to solving the immigration problem,” and is inconsistent with US-Mexico talks aimed at “building a modern, prosperous and safe border,” the statement read.
While Mexican officials may protest and propagandize the situation, the evidence is clear. There has been a significant change in the circumstances on our southern border in recent months and tens of thousands of migrants, including criminal drug cartel and gang members, have made their way into the United States. Moreover, the Mexican government itself is facilitating the mass migrations.
